Acrylic does not absorb light in the visible range. Cast acrylic is also optically isotropic, so light rays are not distorted. Therefore the light transmission can be well controlled by dyes.
inert
Acrylic glass is insert. It absorbs nothing and releases nothing. That is why it is approved for contact with food and is also used in the dental field, for example. It is also well skin-friendly.
weather-resistant
Acrylic has excellent weather resistance. It does not yellow or become brittle. That is why it is also popular for outdoor display covers. Hesaglas is extremely durable.
easy to work with
Acrylic can be machined in a similar way to wood. In addition, it can also be thermoformed. Since Hesaglas is stress-free, everything is a little easier. Hesaglas is also highly suitable for laser cutting.
recyclable
Acrylic glass can be recycled. We are also happy to take back your production waste of our material.
optically isotropic
Due to the production process, Hesaglas has no internal stresses. This also affects the optical properties. Light rays are not deflected and images are not distorted.
scratch resistant
Acrylic is one of the hardest thermoplastics and therefore quite scratch-resistant. For special requirements, a polysiloxane coating is available.
chemical resistance
Hesaglas is a particularly long-chain (high-molecular) acrylic glass. This makes it highly resistant to chemicals. For even higher demands, we also produce cross-linked versions or coat our material with a polysiloxane lacquer.
